Grimoire of TG Tropes and Cliches

 They say show don’t tell but… I hope this doesn’t seem mean-spirited. It’s all for fun on April Fools day. None of these things bother me and I get a massive chuckle out of all of them. I used to and still do use most of them. I think some of these apply to transformation media and porn in general but I just mentioned them because they come up a lot in TG. Would you add anything?

 

The Golden Rules

1. The TGed person will always be extremely attractive. (95% Prevalence!) F cup boobs for everyone.

2. The TGed person will touch or grope themselves at some point in the imminent future.

“Being a woman is terrible, I hate it. Oh no, look at my large soft breasts and my wet pussy. Please save me from this awwwwfuuull fate.”

3. The TGed person will take on a new name with the same first letter as their old first name, or derivative of their old name.

4. The TGed person will immediately adjust to their new form beyond believability. Movement, gait, balance etc. all feel the same. Make-up and difficulties putting on female clothing are minor issues.

5. Pregnancy is beautiful. Periods do not interfere with daily life.

6. Hair and fingernails will grow or recede even when it makes no sense. Silicone and hair extensions will also appear out of nowhere.

7. The TGed person is a either a ridiculous macho, an average joe, or a hopeless high school nerd.

8. The TGed person was originally lacking in femininity or masculinity in some way.

9. Second female characters are there to be spiritual guides through femininity, or to be turned into  men who will screw the main character. Secondary male characters are there to screw the main character, or to be turned into women later on.

10. The TGed person will have no personality traits other than loving sex. Sexual harassment is practically a benefit!

11. Women who turn into men become brutish rapists or horny bros.

12. Women are usually tomboys or athletic before they TG.

13. Couple swaps will end with them screwing each other, this is usually a requirement to change back. That, or they are now destined to be a relationship or this is the way it should have always been etc.

14. Characters are rarely too preoccupied about escaping their predicament. Any attempts are half-hearted.

15. One-night stands usually mean you have acquired some kind of TG curse, or you were bitten during sex and will become a were-woman.

16. Do not make vague wishes or state things you can’t take back. A fairy, genie, witch, angel, reality-warper etc will hear you and act on it.

17. The source of the TG is usually unambiguously clear.

18. Orgasms will seal the person into their transformation either through the abstract, or as a requirement to complete a spell etc.

“I’m about to cum… oh my god, I’m cummmmming. My name is Carllll… no…I’m Claaaarrraa.”

19. Lots of best friends and roommates are sociopaths who will turn their friends into opposite sex slaves or husbands/wives.

“Sorry dude, I always wanted a super-hot girlfriend, and now I have this magic remote… *click*”

20. Women on the receiving end of sexism will always turn out to be a Witch or part of a lesbian feminist gang.

21. TG technology will break after the first use.

22. TG technology is always being used for the first time. Safety checks be damned.

23. TG Technology often manifests as a remote, raygun, chamber or virus.

24. Surgery can magically overcome the hurdles of facial structure, sexual characteristics and all modern problems of gender re-assignment.

25. DNA changes also change your personality.

26. Stepmommy always just really really hates her stepson’s stupid silly boy body.

 

Setting

27. Urban settings should be non-descript and devoid of cultural character. Is it America? Australia? The writer doesn’t know and neither do you.

28. American High Schools are all stuck in the eighties.

29. Jungles contain insects, natives, ancient temples and plants with slimy slick vines, which can all TG you.

30. If you go to a foreign country, you will be transformed into a native.

31. A visit to an Egyptian tomb will end with you becoming the vessel to an ancient female Pharaoh or Sorceress.

32. A standard TG story where a native of the country is transformed never happens.

33. Mansions and old houses contain spirits eager to possess you.

34. Mansions and old houses will try make you their new occupants or resident family.

35. Polar regions are absent from TG stories??? Poor Polar Bears.

35.5.  If the story is set in space, it will involve some virile chest-haired Captain Kirk or Buck Rodgers figure being TGed. Bonus points if it's a misguided AI who does the deed.

36. Basements contain chained succubi or a demon who will TG you. You are now a sex slave.

37. Clubs are full of were-women, or are some kind of TG sexual enslavement scheme.

38. A TG Victim may immediately rush to a club to have sexy time, or to the mall to buy clothes.

39. Entering any kind of gender-specific space such a sorority, fraternity, or women’s bathroom will TG you.

40. Fantasy worlds will change you randomly to fit them, or your own desires will affect your new form. Changes due to your actions within the new world are rare.

41. Characters sent into a fantasy world will usually TG into someone important. They are rarely a peasant, weaver, etc.

 

 

Objects

 

42. Statues that look like women, men or anything phallic will TG you. Do not touch them. Saying anything sexist near them will definitely TG you.

42.5. Beware of computer pop-ups or apps asking questions.

43. In Isekai or Fantasy stories, an artifact’s history was usually misreported, and had an owner of the opposite sex.

44. Wearing costumes of a specific vocation during Halloween will get you TGed. Either this will be in a sincere way, or you will become a stripper.

44.5. Journals will twist your entries to show your feminine or masculine side.

45. The weirder the object the more likely it has a TG curse. Strangest objects I have seen used as TG starters include…

Mosquito trap.

Pumpkins

Fried grasshoppers.

Mudpits

Ear-cleaning buds.

Manhole cover

Police tape.

A cabbage patch doll.

Vietnam war rations.

Rusty pipe

I have also seen people TGed into these things. Wait… what do you mean cabbage patch dolls don’t have a gender???

 

Race and Stereotypes.

46. The TGed person is either a racist or someone who made a minor slip up or cultural faux pas, and has now been disproportionately punished.

47. The TGed will person will become some caricature of their new race or nationality. They rarely talk in any way except some broken English or forced street lingo.

“Me so horny. Suck suck fuck.”

48. The person who curses the character to change into a minority, are usually the same minority.

49. White people are always the victims. The other races do not exist.

50. Polynesians are precious. If you see one then screenshot immediately.

51. Japanese, Korean and Chinese names are all interchangeable. They were probably just adopted after all.

52. Spanish and Latin American characters are also interchangeable.

53. Job advertisement: Maids should be French, Mexicans or Redheads. Chinese acceptable.

54. The TGed character will gain instant knowledge of the native language somehow.

55. The image will be one of the holy trinity of Japanese models, Hitomi Tanaka, Asa Akira and Anri Okita.

 

 

Identity Death

 

56. No one looks for the character after they are IDed.

57. Some kind of battle of the mind will take place where a representation of their opposite sex self will confront them. Then one of the following things will happen. A. They merge. Either to create a new personality or one absorbs the other and kills them. B. One changes to have the appearance of the other to represent their losing the mental battle.

58. Characters rarely dig their own grave. They don’t accelerate their own transformation through their actions, but basically would have transformed anyway.

 58.5. The victim of an ID often falls in love with the person they bullied if they were a bully. Conversely, the bullied victim can be the one who falls in love. This usually means they became a worse person or trashier in some way, depending on the type of bully.

 

*Slow identity death is the hottest thing in the world ;)

 

Possession

59. Anyone who keeps possessing the same person will inevitably forget who they are.

59.5 Swaps are never for ‘just one day’

60. Grandmas, grandads and friends are not just ‘curious’, they have a plan, and that involves taking your body.

61. Especially dark stories will have the main character suffer a heart attack after being swapped into an old person.

62. No one is ever able to reject or kick out an invading spirit. No matter the intelligence, willpower, mental age or physical strength of the possessor or possessed.

 

Crossdressing

63. Joking around with  fake wigs or jewellery will get you TGed.

64. There will be no mental resistance, second-guessing or inner turmoil from the person who just started acting out their fantasies.

65. A simple cross-dressing story must contain at least twenty chapters. Half of the first chapter is dedicated to the character contemplating wearing one piece of lingerie.

66. Oestrogen or testosterone overdoses are an effective way to die of organ failure or go insane, not become the opposite gender faster.

67. Strangely unfashionable clothes that are out of date by decades.

 

Jekyll and Hyde/Elixir stories.

68. The alter ego always wins ;)

69. The character is usually good before they changed. The character is never evil or flawed already.

69.5. If you are offered a drink in one of these stories, you just drank Elixir.

70. Such a malicious and easily available drug has no ramifications on human society whatsoever.
